Friends and colleagues often ask me why I started to write fiction (I'm supposed to be a researcher), or how did you come up with the plot? Or some variation of those two questions.
In my interview on Blaine Pardoe's podcast discussing Alter Road and the forthcoming Friendship Games, Blaine asked me about my writing process. I mentioned that I generally work with scenes in mind, and an ending, and that I try to piece scenes together as I work towards the ending.
U2 released their third title from their forthcoming album Songs of Surrender, an album of 40 "reimagined" songs from their existing discography. This time, it is One, their iconic single from their iconic album Achtung Baby!, released in 1991.
Today, I stumbled across the title of what will be my third novel: Zeítenwende.
The publisher is still working on its release, but it looks like Friendship Games is available for pre-order for the Kindle version. Paperback should be available then, too, but I'll post when it is ready.
First, some news: Friendship Games has a preliminary release date: February 21st! Knock on wood! Audiobook a little later, in March or April 2023.
U2 has a new album coming in March. It isn't an album of new material; rather, it comprises 40 "re-imagined" songs from their discography. The album coincides with Bono's recently published (and very good) memoir, Surrender: 40 Songs, One Story. (I'll write and post my review soon).
Fragile, by Ian Wong.
Looking forward to U2's forthcoming album Songs of Surrender where they "re-imagine" 40 songs from their discography. Snippets from Bono's book Surrender are promising. But this, "Pride (In the Name of Love)", their first release from Songs of Surrender, is NOT reassuring.
