30,000 Words

It's been seven months - seven! - since I reported reaching 20,000 words with novel #3.
Well, I have only now reached 30,000.
Yeah, yeah, I know. What's taking so long?
Writing, as I've learned before and have re-learned twice again, is not a linear undertaking. It is two steps forward, one step back. And more often than not, it is one step forward, two steps back.
You build up, tear down, build up. Repeat.
I really like the foundation that I have so far built. I am happy with the pace and built-in urgency that I have written, and also the evocative scenes that, I am told, is kind of my trademark thus far.
30,000 words means that I am approaching the halfway mark.
Bear with me as I push forward. I still anticipate the release date for novel #3 to be sometime in 2026.
Oh, and a bonus: I am working with my friend and Friendship Games editor Peter Gerardo on a second edition and re-release of my first novel, Alter Road. Peter did an excellent job with Friendship Games, which received both critical acclaim and several awards. I attribute much of the success of Friendship Games to Peter's critical eye and deft wielding of the red pen.
I anticipate a release of the second edition of Alter Road to be coordinated with the release of novel #3.
